On a typical warship of such size and costliness, there would be tertiary weaponry: starfighter or gunboat groups carried upon the starship for defense purposes against enemy starships and small capital warships, or offensive operations en masse against enemy capital ships. Although, as most capital ship-scale weapon batteries, the turbolasers are less effective against enemy starfighters, they have been calibrated so that they are more efficient in destroying attacking starfighters than the Taim & Bak XX-9 heavy turbolasers mounted on Imperial Star Destroyers.

Because of the infrequency of the firing of the twin turbocannons, the turbolasers were used for anti-capital ship offensive operations and point-defense fighter interception. Its secondary weaponry consisted of no less than a hundred medium twin-barreled turbolaser emplacements. Yet, the skill and firepower needed to effect such a devastating attack on a destroyer were considerable, and were highly unfeasible. Multiple direct hits that penetrated the heavy concentric armor sheaths of the turbocannons could set off a chain reaction in the reactors, destroying the Aggressor-class destroyer.

However, the turbocannons were linked directly to the reactors of the destroyer, minimizing power drop off from channeling of reactor energy. An Aggressor-class destroyer could fire only a single salvo in a typical space engagement. However, the turbocannons took a tremendous amount of energy to charge. An identical hit could destroy any Victory-class Star Destroyer or Dreadnought-class heavy cruiser. Immediately lower the shields of an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer.

A twin plasma hit couldĪn Aggressor-class destroyer firing a plasma turbocannon. The two turbocannons typically discharged in rapid succession: an intimidating display of sweeping solar fire across the stars. At the final stage, the discharge segment, the gigantic, spiraling plasma burst was herded towards its target by the magnetic fields, with a velocity that made any enemy capital ship unable to dodge the super powered blast. Then, successive magnetic pulses herded the energy through the focusing sections, increasing its yield by continually reshaping it and energizing it. Its primary weaponry consisted of two massive, elongated, wide-barrel plasma turbocannons - enormously enlarged weapons systems cylindrical in shape that used concentrated, overlapping magnetic fields powered by systems of supercooled super-magnets that focused a high-power plasma charge in the actuator segments of the turbocannon.
